Happy Summer!

Although it seems like it took forever, our warm sunny days are finally here. Put your sunscreen on, get out there and enjoy some beautiful Michigan summer weather.

Some of our popular procedures, such as IPL and Chemical Peels, need to be used with caution during the summer due to the amount of sun our skin may be exposed to. Instead, try other procedures that are safe to do during the summer months with proper sunscreen use.

SAVE on Microdermabrasion in June

Microdermabrasion is a safe, painless skin exfoliation that rids the face of dead skin cells that can contribute to dull looking skin. Exfoliation helps the penetration of skin care products instead of allowing them to sit on top of the skin. With NO downtime, this is the perfect treatment before a special event. Dysport is a simple, effective, non-surgical treatment that works by relaxing facial muscles, thereby reducing and smoothing away frown lines and wrinkles. It is a competitor of BOTOX® and is most commonly used to treat lines between the eyebrows, on the forehead and "crows feet" found at the sides of the eyes. The 15-minute treatment is 3-5 painless injections and the effects last about four months.

SAVE on Microneedling in July

If skin texture is an issue for you micro needling could be a solution. Microneedlingis a non-surgical treatment that uses very fine, short needles to create tiny punctures in your skin prompting a natural, collagen-stimulating healing process that corrects flaws and improves skin quality. This treatment addresses large pores, acne scarring, rough skin texture and fine lines. Your skin will look smoother with a healthy glow! Best done in a series of three spaced 4-6 weeks apart you will notice improvement with each treatment.

We can't stress this enough...

As summer gets into full swing, we want to remind everyone to APPLY SUNSCREEN EVERY DAY! So many of you spent the winter months working to improve your skin tone and texture with procedures and effective products only to undo or minimize the results by exposing your skin to too much sun. A recent study showed that “in the absence of sun protection your skin is always in the mode of trying to fix the damage caused by UV exposure. By blocking that damage from occurring, sunscreen allows your skin to not only repair damage but also get back to the job of keeping skin healthy.” An SPF of 30 is advised for daily use, a water-resistant SPF of 40-50 is needed when at the beach, pool, or engaging in activities that may cause sweating. And don’t forget to reapply!
