ENH Spotlight on ServiceSpotlight on Services

April is Rosacea Awareness Month...What is Rosacea? And how to treat it.

Rosacea is becoming more common in our population. Although it can develop in many ways, rosacea typically first appears after age 30 as a redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that comes and goes, and might be mistaken for a sunburn. Unfortunately, the redness tends to worsen and grow more persistent over time, and small visible blood vessels may appear. Without treatment, bumps and pimples often develop, and burning and stinging are common. In severe cases, the nose may become enlarged from excess tissue, and in many rosacea patients the eyes are also affected, feeling irritated and appearing watery or bloodshot.

An effective treatment for rosacea is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments. This treatment uses light energy to target broken capillaries and redness in the skin from rosacea or dark pigmented spots from sun exposure. IPL can be done on the face, neck, chest or backs of hands to successfully reduce pigment and/or redness. Broken vessels around the nose are often treated with IPL as well. One treatment will bring improvement but often a series of three is recommended. There is very little, if any downtime with IPL but sun exposure should be limited a couple weeks before and after a treatment. The use of sunscreen is mandatory!

SAVE $50 on a series of three full face treatments. Please call for discounts on other areas.

Use BOTOX® or Dysport® to Treat Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis - commonly known as excessive underarm sweating is a problem that embarrasses many people. It refers to any abnormal sweating, such as sweating when it's not hot. People who sweat excessively often soak through their clothing or drip sweat. Regular antiperspirants don't work well for those with this condition.

BOTOX or Dysport works by blocking the nerves responsible for activating your sweat glands. Normally, your nervous system activates your sweat glands when your body temperature rises. This is how your body automatically cools itself. In people with hyperhidrosis, however, the nerves that signal the sweat glands are overactive.

This treatment is quick, easy and lasts about 9-12 months. Many people address this problem as we head into the summer months when the condition is even more noticeable. Although we do not bill medical insurance for this procedure many people are able to use their HSA or FSA to cover the cost. Give us a call to see if you are a candidate.

Activate the Power of your Skin with Sculptra®

Sculptra is the treatment that activates your skin's natural power to help revitalize collagen production for a more youthful-looking appearance. Sculptra works with your body to address the underlying cause of facial aging, not just the symptoms. Gradually overtime you will notice significant subtle results in facial lines, wrinkles and folds, as well as loss of skin volume through the improvement of age-induced collagen loss and lack of elasticity.

Now through the end of May we are offering a complimentary syringe of a Restylane product OR one area of Dysport* for new patients beginning a series of Sculptra in April and May. Please schedule a complimentary consultation to find out if Sculptra could benefit you!

*This treatment will be administered after your third treatment of Sculptra.
